I figure i would tell ya all about my night before Tigger did. We stayed up last night watching TAPS it is a program about a groop that hunts for gosts. Well after it was over we all went to bed, well every one except me. I could not sleep, every little noise, or shadow cought my eye. and i sat up an there is a mirror acrost from me and i saw this little glowing light above my head, so im hitting Jeromy to get up ,there is somthing hovering above my head!!!!!!!!! He gets up looks in the mirror turns and looks above my head and it was the light from the smoke detector, i felt like an ***. needless to say i did not sleeep at all last night.

We got an aword last night!!!!!!! Our team and 7 other teams were routed into the city that we are at yesterday and they put us up in the HOLIDAY INN SELECT, EVERY ONE GOT THERE OWN ROOM. Jeromy and i shaired. and a varry nice dinner. We also got $1000 for each team to use as we please. The aword was for 2 yrs of never being late on a load and we were in the top 5 teams for the year! they judge it by how well we work together, operating costs, rout planing, and training grades. they only tell the top 5 teams they dont narow it down any more than that, but it is still an achievement. SARAH said she was all vary proud of all of us. We did not know anything about this till we got here. last year we donated the money to the shriners burn center. this year we are thinking of donating the money to the wounded troups faimly fund. we always donate the money to some good cause. we have a little surplus in our monthly budget so we are going to treat our self out of that. we will be spending our holiday weekend at a military base in the central us. they are putting us up for the weekend and suplying all our food and we will be enjoying sun, monday there. enjoying all the festivitys.
CONGRATULATIONS!!! MISSY and team!. I'm more congratulating you and your team for donating the money to a worthy cause. Well done team!.:);)

Oh boy i am so full. Sarah made food for all of us, 3 teams ==30 people and 5 mp's from the base we are on . after they drove by 5 times se invited them up for some food. They grabed a quick plate inhaled there food and were off, they were on duty still but were gratfull for the food. we had hamburgers , kobosa, ribs, and hole chickens. one of the other ladies from a nother team put pinaple on the hamburgers and it was fantastik! Sarah did most of the cooking. Tigger tryed to help but Sarah kept showing him back to his seat. lol He is a varry good cook! I wish i was . Jeromy sayes if i try to cook he calls and has the firedept. on stand by. i realy can't cook. i messed up jello, it never set up.:o I blew up the microwave trying to make popcorn. Jeromy does all the cooking at home! i can make a tv dinner in the microwave. I'm not alowed to touch the stove, before i met Jeromy it was take out, or delivery.lol I had dishes and pots that my mom got me when i was in school in the early 90s i didn't open them till i got maried 3 yrs ago. Ask tigger , i tryed to make him a sandwitch when he was working on my house , the cat tryed to cover it up. witch realy botherd me because it ate drywall past but wouldent touch my cooking.
Blowing up the microwave using popcorn, takes real skill MISSY! lol. If you wanted a new microwave surely all you had to do was ask!, you didn't have to blow it up lol. Yeah I think people are either offended by the jokes or find them funny. But a most of Mel Brooks films were like that. However I was amazed at some of the stuff that didn't get censored.
individual scenes in the movie could be offensive because they are taken out of context. if you see the movie from beginning to end you will see it actually has a positive message.
captnjack
05-26-2009, 12:54 AM
Yes I agree and most of the jokes are at sterotypes and meant to be funny not offensive. I like the Mel Brooks movies and find them very humurous. History of the World, Frankenstein, Blazing Saddles all were very funny.
I think the difference is that they were never mean spirited. but mel brooks does always make great and funny movies. some of the best lines come out of the movies you mentioned.

i remember alot of the Mel Brooks movies especially "Blazing Saddle".A positive message?....like don't fart near a open flame such as a Camp fire? :D
the Camp fire reminded me of a story my best friend told me something that he done back in High School...another positive message, don't do something dumb like pissing into a camp fire. He done it once out of boredom.Lets just say he had to leave the area fast..he said the whole area around the camp fire stinks to high heaven
that is one of many lessons... as well as don't mess with a guy named Mongo.

Im out in the middle of nowair in a field the army guys are unloading my trailer into one of there trucks to take out in the field where they are setting up for the week. and the truck drives away so the next one can back up to the back of my trailer to be loaded and one of the army guys did not notice the truck was gone and walked right off the back of the trailer and broke his arm. They just put him in to my chase car and are rushing him to the local hospital. You cant fall 4 ft holding a box of ammo (45lbs) and not hurt somthing. I feel bad for the guy but i bet he is going to get a but chewing. How could he not notice the truck was gone? and why didint one of the 8 others on the trailer stop him? dont get me wrong i have the upmost respect for all our troops but we have some ideots out there. this morning they got one of the trucks stuck and they pulled it out and the guy drove right back into the hole that they just pulled him out of. i have been to the driver training center i know they teach them better than that!

Outch!
Why hasn't that guy looked where he stepped? How big is such a box of ammo?
At 45lbs each box, he wouldn't have tried to move 2 boxes at once, blocking his view, would he?
I guess one of the worst things that can happen to you while handling explosives is letting it turn into a habit. That's when people stop giving attention to what they do. ("The last 100 times nothing happened. Why should something happen right now?")
The closest I've come to explosives was holding my rounds at the shooting range when I served in the Medical Corps. I can't imagine ever to drop attention when handling explosives (which doesn't occure these days anymore).
I hope the guy got only a simple fracture, so it can heal quickly.

Ah, I see. That's not too big to look over while carying it. And yes, that box looks damn stable compared to bones ...
I was in the Medical Corps of the German Army, at a material supply unit. You won't believe how much stuff is constantly needed, even if the troops aren't doing anything but training.
My service was before Germany decided to take part in more of the peacekeeping missions around Europe and the world. At my service time the German government wound itself out of it somehow, even though they were repeatedly asked. With the reunion they had to face the growing responsibility with it and had to attend.
Ah, crap, talking politics again. Sorry!

There mom was hit by a car at the motel last night and they were hudled by her so the girls gathered them up we have a box for them Missy had them in the van with her all day they seem to be healthy and active. they have ate every thing we put in with them. David is going to take them home with him his daughter is going to rase them till they are old enough to go out on there own. the girls are going to take care of them till then. they are cute!
Their very cute Tigger, lucky they were found. When their old enough to fend for themselves the girls may find it hard to let them go. I can see that happening.:)

I think it is going to be harder for Missy and Amanda to let go. Sarah seemed to enjoy holding them as well.
WhyYou
05-31-2009, 10:59 PM
The main problem is that, because they are still babies, when they get older they may not be able to fend for themselves because they were raised in captivity. So releasing them into the wild might be a death sentence for them. It might be best to just keep them with the other rabbits for as long as they live.

Bit of bad news for me today. My house was broken into while I was at work. I got a call from my security company saying they were detecting a front door intrusion and a motion sensor alert in the living room. Took me about 40 minutes to drive home and when I arrived a policemen was waiting and the front door was open. I was hoping the sound of the burglar alarm had frightened the thieves off and only the front door was damaged. But when I got out of my car the policemen came up to me and said that my house had indeed been broken into and it looked all that was stolen was my TV. He said that another house in my neighborhood was broken into yesterday and all the thieves took was the TV. Both neighbors on either side of me weren't home but my neighbor the street said he saw a red car in my driveway but just though I had company. I have insurance but with the deductible which is the lowest I could get it will still set me back several months.

Sorry to hear about your break-in Captnjack, glad no one was hurt and they only managed to take the tv. Computers are usually far more expensive to replace and in my opinion are far more valuable lol.:)

Yes I am glad no one was hurt. These guys were pretty brave and I would hate to think what might have happen had anyone gotten in their way. The TV was closest thing to the front door so I guess that is why they got it instead of my computer. The police were here within 15 minutes after the alarm tripped so they didn't have much tme. Insurance company is already starting to give me a hassle because I had my front door repaired before the claims adjuster got to see the damage.

I'm sorry that you were the victim of a burglar. I'm glad that nobody was hurt.
The closest I got to such a situation was when somebody stole the radio out of our family car several years back in a series of car break-ins.
The thief and his receiver were easily convicted when the usual suspects were controlled later. Our radio was instantly identified in a pile of "bought used radios" because I had engraved our address in the case of our radio. :p

Speaking of reunions..I had my 30th year High School reunion last night. It was ok since I wasn't close to nay of my classmates since all my friends went to another High School. It was still nice seeing the old classmates...some looked alittle like they did back then, but alot had changed. Some of the Hot Girls back then still looked Hot 30 years later. (LOL)
Went to work, had an accident, been to hospital, just returned home.:(
I had a stupid accident this morning i climbed on top of a high stack of timber packs to check the "bill of laden numbers". Normally a forktruck is used to lift the packs down for me to check which i wouldn't have to check had it have been properly checked by the guy who unloaded the timber in the first place. Anyway like an idiot i didn't wait for a forktruck or get one myself. I really don't know was i was thinking climbing up, guess i was in too much hurry. I was walking along the rows of timber and i slipped trapping my left leg between two timber packs twisting my leg at the same time. I really thought i had broken it but luckly it wasn't. I was lifted down in a cage via a forktruck. My first thoughts were, this is embarrassing lol. My leg was in agony so it was straight to the local hospital and i had an xray to check if there's anything broken, and there wasn't although i have a torn knee ligament and some may be frayed. Which they reckon will take about a month to fully heal. At the moment it's a little swollen and the bruising is coming up which i'm told is normal. I am so angry with myself for being that stupid, i should know better. When i first started at the sawmill, climbing sets of timber was common because if you only wanted two of three lengths, it was easier and quicker than getting a forktruck move a lot of packs in front just to get a few lengths. But of cause nowaday with safety regulations being much higher, climbing packs should be a thing of the past. But it still happens from time to time. I was just unlucky. It's unlikely i'll get sick pay so i'll use some of my holiday to cover it. Which isn't really a problem because at the end of the day it was entirely my stupidity and fault. I must have had my brain switched off this morning. Guess it could have been worse i could have fallen to the ground and landing on concrete doesn't bear thinking about. So if i'm on the forum more often, it's because i can't do anything else at the moment lol.:(

Mart! Man!
I won't ask you "What the hell came over you?", you'll ask it yourself enough the next few weeks. Just don't do that again.
Accidents often come along with hurry. I know it is worse when you know that and do it anyway.
I'm glad you got "just" a torn knee ligament when it could have easily ended much worse.
I hope your knee will heal good and fast, my friend.
Mart, Im sorry really, my Friend !
Can happen that there are some negative days. And that the out brain can be had. And particularly in the dangerous job of tools and handlings.
Friend Mart, has been all right luckily, indeed for your life. Very better also for your leg.
I hope only that you are very careful when you are not in great form during the man days.
Also I always have moments depressed in my job and family. And for the stupidity of my colleagues they have me almost ruined my life. When I tried to work and to think only for me and my mother.
At times we have to have a double strength against what is fatal.
Your right Anoree, i have been asking myself what came over me to climb that stack. Especially knowing how dangerous it can be, At the time i was a bit angry at having to check pack numbers when they should have been checked already. Even now i still can't believe i climbed five packs high just to get the "bill of laden numbers". If there's an award for the stupidest forman, then i won first prize this morning. What makes me angry at the moment is thinking back to the moment of climbing and actually thinking, i shouldn't be doing this and i still did it.( at myself) at least i can guarantee to myself, i'll never do that again.
Thanks Anoree, Ugo, although i really don't think i deserve too much sympathy
True Mart.

Not having much luck lately, my mate who brought my car home after my accident. Parked it on the main road instead of down my cul-de-sac. Because there was too many other cars already in my part. a cul-de-sac means it's a dead-end road with no throughway. It can be difficult to get a parking space where i live, we all usually have to try to park as close as possible to each other so all neighbours cars are in. You've heard the term bottlenecked road! well that's it exactly here lol. A lot of cars in a very small space, chaos reigns lol. Anyway back to my bad luck a neighbour come round this morning to tell me one of my wing mirrors was smashed off by a van going too fast down the road clipping the mirror off and to add insult to injury the following car ran over it lol. I put thick bandages on my shulders to cushon the straps but it still hurt. we did 113 air evacks all together between 4 birds, thats got to be some kind of record! The purpos of the training was a simulated mass evac. after a durty bomb det. It all went well, we had 6 guys go down from the heat and had to treat them. one of the people playing a victom fell while getting into place and we had to do a real evac on her, just a sprained wrist. but we flew her to the hospital anyway. we had a field hosp. set up in a field but every once in a while we would take one to the local hosp. they were in on it and it gave them some training too. had one guy vomit while we were winching him up into the bird and the down wash from the blades blew it every wair. i was able to get a few pitures i will poast later i have to dig my camera out of my pack and im dying for some real food! i do not know where Missy is. Mrs Parker had a project for the girls to do but i dont know what it was. up Jeromy just told me the girls are all at a camp for special needs kids helping out there.

Why me!!!:(
Mart...sorry to hear about all your recent misfortune..hope you heal up soon. Bummer about your car too..

Alive and kicking! We "Jeromy,David and I" just got back this morning, have been training out in the field since monday with only 12 hours off time all week. I am wiped out!!!!!!!!!!:o I hurt in places i didnt know i could hurt! they squeezed 2 weeks worth of training into 1 week. I have to go again in october for a nother week of training. learned some new medical procedures and did a lot of field work. and it was hot!!!!!!!! and my sunburn didnt help , tuesday my shoulders were bleeding from the straps on my pack rubbing agenst them and rubbing the dead sundurn skin off. I put thick bandages on my shulders to cushon the straps but it still hurt. we did 113 air evacks all together between 4 birds, thats got to be some kind of record! My cookie is all crumbled. My hole body hurts, the sunburn is about healed up. I got lucky when my co saw my shoulders he stuck me in the helicopter for most of it. we just got back from clean up. everything is put away and training is over for now, Im going to sleep till monday. David fell asleep talking to his wife and Missy took the phone and spoke with her for a bit, he is out for the count. He spent most of the time on the ground carring litters and running around he is bushed. Jeromy was all over ,half the time on a helicopter and half in the field. They did some good jobs on the wounded it looked so real. in this photo it is all fake!

I have to go normaly 2 times a year but this year it will be 3 times. and every once in a while i have to put in a weekend. my job counts as time too, because i have a military job. Missy and Jeromy are out on the town, wed. was there anerversery 2 yrs. so they are out selibrating. the girls went to a camp for disabled kids for the week, some kid stuck pudding in Amandas hair, and another kid pulled down Missys top in the pool. but all in all they had a good time.
You certainly have a tough job Tigger, i guess it takes a special kind of person to do what you do Tigger and i can only admire your dedication and true grit.;)

It helps to be a little nuttty!:p The boys were whiped out when they got back and they smelled like they had been in the woods for a week. Amanda and I were the first to get back to base. We had a good time but it is a lot of work taking care of special needs kids. They ranged from in a weelchairto just being slow. and yes one of the kids i had in the pool got a little frightened and grabed my top and i was exposed for a sec. no biggy. Amanda had one in a weelchair throw a bowl of pudding in her hair, she learned from that, you dont put down a bowl in front of a kid who cant control his motor skils he had a good aim though!:D I had this little kid with mack& cheez all ofer his hands come up behind me and put his arm around my leg. thank god for baby wipes. There were sticky little hands everywair you turned. and the finger painting, we wont go there!!!!!!!!!!! and the horse back riding was so fun for the kids. Amanda had her hair up and the kid she was holding grabed her poney tail and held on for dear life, the little bugger was strong it took one of the guys to get her loose. Missy Its nice that you and Amanda help out disable kids.I went to one of those camps as a kid since I have a slight hearing loss and I was considered "Disabled".I do remember the female helpers/councelors has being really cute. :)

There were all kind of disablitys. one kid was just blind. Most of them were pretty smart kids just a little slow. and there were a few you couldent take your eyes off of or they would be into somthing. but 99% of them were good kids. The kid that pulled down my top had down sindrome, he got scared when one of the other kids jumped in too close to him. I would love to go back again and help out, most of the girls were in there teens that voliteered, and they did a great job too. Tigger would be great at this he is so good with kids.

Just received some bad news, my mum is coming to stay for awhile  only joking it's never bad news when my mum comes to stay. Although it's gonna be tough on me, because she's an habitual cleaner, whether it needs cleaning or not lol. I dearly love my mum because i have the best mum in the world, like most of us have. She's come to check up on me after my accident even though i told her on the phone that i'm ok. Her cleaning will drive me potty though lol. I like to think my place is pretty clean and tidy but i bet she'll find something! that's not quite clean or not in the right place lol. One time she actually cleaned my keyboard will soap and water and ruined it, i never told her it was ruined and didn't work anymore, i just thanked her lol. Be nice to have a little company, so i think i'd better tidy up before she arrives lol.:D:)

Thanks guys! But realy just seeing the smiles and joy on the kids faces is all the prase I need. Most of thous kids only get to get out and have fun 2 or 3 times a year. It cost about $150 a week for one of the kids to go to the camp depending on there needs. we help out for free to keep the cost down. Tigger does a lot with the boyscouts at his town and in AUG. Jeromy and i are going with him to his camp out for the weekend we did it a cupple years back and it was so much fun, and Tigger can cook. His cobbler is the best and he did ribs that were just fantastic. It is somthing we just love to do. Sarah and Marcy were at shriners hospital for the week and did the activitys for the kids in the hospital. That is hard because some of them are not going to make it. But you have to be strong for them. Tigger is great wit the kids. He has help the boys in the scouts with all the stuff they need to advance, and so much about the outdoors and how to survive. Tigger was even the best man at one of his scouts wedding. and he has raised a wonderfull daughter, having lost his wife and had to do it all on his own and look after his inlaws too, he has got the biggest heart and would help out any one that neded it. He has been thru a lot him self over the years, but he always finds the time to help others. ok I need to stop before i start to cry.( it's a girl thing)

My mom visited me several times when I was living in South Carolina and she would wash my dishes and my clothes. Then she would put them away in the places SHE felt they should be. After she left I couldn't find my pots, pans, socks, and underwear...lol! I had to ask her not to put anything away! She also tidied up my house and threw away everything she thought I didn't need. I had to go through all the trash bags because she threw away a lot of important papers I needed! So I asked her to just put everything she thought I didn't need in one bag so I could go through it later and pull out the important stuff. But I love my mom dearly. When she comes to visit me here she asks what she can do to help and I give her specific instructions. :)

She told me Pouncer cought a snake out side and snuck it in the house and hid it in his bed and Sarah was cleaning and was going to wash his bedding and the snake fell out when she picked up the pillow, about scared the life out of her. It was dead but she didn't know that at first, I pry would have dyed right there!! SHE said Pouncer grabed it and ran out in his enclosure with it and was eating it. GROSSSSS! How can you give your mum specific instructions WhyYou?. If i tried that she'd box my ears lol. I guess mums still remember when we were kids and always tidying up after us and can't break the habit. My mum has just thrown out a load of my old clothes like jeans and t-shirts that have a few tears and holes in them. Even though they are only work clothes, so it doesn't actually matter lol. Well I'm into photography, but I sure don't take them that way and when I take pictures of women. They were taken with thier concent due to they were models I had either hired or worked with in a photography workshop. That type of upskirt pictures really do tick me off.I would have taken the guy's phone and put it where the sun don't shine and tell him to take a picture of that.

He handed me a fish and said put a lot of butter inside this so i did and then he had me put garlic and onions in side of it and a little salt and pepper. by the time i hade done all 6 fish he had his little grill going, WE wraped the fish in foil and placed them on the grill for about 7-10 min then let them sit for a bit. Opened up the foil and the skin just pealed right off and it smelled so good. and it was just wonderfull, the best fish I had ever had. and i help cook! This is somthing I could do again it was so simple and easy. I just thought I would shair a little somthing that has been on my mind the past few days. Judy a former member of my team who had to come off the road for health resons has been riding with me for the past few days filling in for Andy who had a death in the family. she has a rair form of blood enemea. and only has about 5 or 6 years to live.she is 46 yrs old. this will be the last time she will be able to do anything she starts blood dialisis next week and is being forsed to take medical retierment. She has all this going on and knows that she is dying but she is so happy and plesant like she hasnt a care in the world. I piss and moan about my akes and pains and health problems that are nothing compaired to what she is going thru and will have to endure the short time she has left. realy makes me think my things i make such a big deal about realy dont amount to much.

Had to happen sooner or later, my nephew Tony got his first speeding ticket today and he's bloody proud of it! and i'm very annoyed at him. I know most of us including me get the odd speeding ticket from time to time. But it's nothing to be proud about. He's been driving for a year now and is quite a good driver although he will drive close to the max speed limit for the road he's on. Like if it's 40 he'll do 38 which is fair enough if you can keep just below. I admit it's what i usually do. But then i've been driving for many years and i think Tony's not quite ready for driving that close to the limit yet. I always tell him to keep at least 5mph below the limit that way he's got a little to play with, especially in built up areas. Mind you he wasn't happy when i pointed out to him that his insurance premiums would go up with fines and penalty points. Hopefully it's a lesson learnt for my nephew.

Well when you're young and full of cum as some say they tend to see thier first speeding ticket as a "Badge of Honor". (LOL)
they won't be grinning much after they realize that thier insurance rates will go up and if the parents are paying it theere hell to pay. :)
I've decided not to be annoyed with him. I might have done the same at his age which was quite a long time ago, if only i could remember lol. I fully agree Texasdrake guess he just wanted that first fine under his belt, yet my niece has been driving for about 2 years and has never received any kind of driving fine for speeding or parking. Does that say anything about male v female driving? lol.

Well as for male Vs Female drivers its hard to say.Think it mostly depends on the personThink over all most teenage boys are risk takers as for driving ,but you'll find a few girls who would make the Duke boys (Dukes of Hazzard T.V. show) look like timid drivers.
Well, for one thing, it might say that she is not a risk taker.
Your absolutely right Laranger, she is a very good driver with good consideration for other drivers. Even when the odd driver would cut her up by changing lanes without indicating or is overtaken, all she'll say is "what an idiot" as for me i would be tooting my horn and swearing very loudly and even waving a fist occasionally lol. In heavy traffic she remains calm, not the case for my nephew like most young drivers he would be revving the hell out of the engine always edging forward to getting as close as he can to the front car. He has absolutely no patience for slow traffic. In my opinion i just think woman are generally more careful drivers than us men. It always seems to me that men and speed go together, rather than women and speed. Although i'd like to hear from any female members here, such as MISSY as to what they think.

I was being "Nice" compare to a few people..you might have heard some stories from the states where people have a bad case of the road rage and use thier hand guns instead. Here in Texas its legal to carry a hand gun as long as you pass a course and carry the gun license.I bet every case it was a man not a woman pulling the gun out. :(

As for guns, that's just the ultimate in roadrage. That is seriously crazy. So i guess in the states you just have be careful as you just don't know what the other driver is thinking or carrying. To me that is scary.

Well wouldn't know who be the loudest, but think it be fun hearing a Brit saying a few colorful phrases..always thought the english accent was pretty cool and hearing it when someone is cussing doesn't sound so bad.You most likely have someone say well thank you instead F**K Y*U. (LOL)
As for the ultimate roadrage yeah well we had a few cases of road rage locally that had a driver pulled out a gun and used it.Some might get lucky and the shooter is a bad shoot and just end up with holes in thier car.So far hand gun road rages are rare and not a normal everyday thing.

Obviously i don't know the routes these guys take, but it may not be their fault entirely. Maybe they hit bad traffic or road accident. I know it's a completely different field but we have late deliveries quite often of timber loads even when their promised at a certain time and it's usually because of bad traffic. Personally i think there is just too traffic everywhere. I've been late for work many a time all because of unpredicted heavy traffic, which can't be helped.
