Well one more problem...Hitachi's definitely aren't as comfortable to snuggle with as men are.

I suppose that's true. But I wouldn't even go near it. The last time there was a scorpion in my house I used one of my platform knee high boots to squish it.

Having used the vacuum cleaner to suck up very large spiders, wasp nests etc. Worked very well. Might work for scorpions as well.

That's one of the things I don't like about living in the desert. I would much rather deal with spiders than scorpions. Fortunately the weather is getting cooler so I hopefully won't be seeing them anymore until it gets hot again.
