What year? depending on the year it may have been for the best... i had an 88 and a half (that is what the manual said) and according to consumer reports, it was the worse escort ever built. known for issues with the electrical system. and i can tell you from personal experience that it was true.

I was driving my white volkswagon beetle, rushing to work because I was late. There was a car stopped at a stop sign just up the road about half a mile away. It was an older car and a real tank, looked like it could be hit and not be damaged. I got to find out about that. Just as I got up near that car the driver decided it was time for him to pull out. I hit hard because I had thought he would at least wait until I had gone by (he had waited for this long!). The accident ripped out the front end of my volkswagon and put a small dent in the other car's bumper. The driver of the tank was an old man who looked like he needed new glasses. Luckily, I didn't get fired from my job because I had a good excuse for not being able to get to work that day.

Well i hope he was insured WhyYou. Sounds like a bad case of bad driving. He obviously didn't look in the mirror for oncoming traffic. That's happened to me a few times where people just pull out without looking or even indicating so i have to hit the brakes as they casually pull out oblivious as to what's behind them. It's very frustrating when that happens. I wonder how some people pass their test with bad driving like that. Maybe they've forgotten what they learnt at driving school.

83 was a good year... its funny how i was reading the consumer reports chart and all the cars were great... except for that year. everything else rated above average... just my luck i would pick that one.

Lol, that sounds like a wine rating.
I never thought of cars in good years and bad years. I might have to rethink.

We've had a used Escord for a couple of years. It was NOTHING but trouble. Must have been an 88er.
