Good thread geolarsen - I have to say that I am a cat man myself. Although I do have to admit that the dogs are generally smarter than cats - if I had the choice to have only one animal - it would have to be a cat. I just love their independence and attitude - dogs will love you no matter what, but with cats they always let you know how they are feeling, and if you treat them badly you can count on getting the cold shoulder for a while - well, at least till they get hungry that is
Seriously though - that attitude sort of keeps you on your toes. Trust me I am not slamming dogs - I had a German Sheppard for 12 years and she was one of the kindest and most loyal pets I ever had - if I was ever to get another dog - definitely would be a Sheppard.
