I read this a while back. Zoologist Desmond Morris postulated in The Naked Ape, 1967 (hope I get this right) while gorillas, bonobos, chimps, orangs mate "doggy-style", humans have for the most part changed our mating habits to a face-to-face mating method. As a result, our original instinct to mate from behind, with that visual stimulus of the buttocks (i.e., a baboons brightly coloured posterior) was lost, and so to attract men and keep them interested during sex, the breasts began to develop mimicking the shape of the butt.
