Faith No More
Three Days Grace Disturbed |
For me it's Punk, Metal, and some rock. Black metal i have been listing to a lot lately.
Bands like Gorgoroth, Striborg, Immortal, (yes thats where i got my name). Just too many to list. Sorry Danielle, I don't like Korn. |
I know why i've been whistling the late great Karen Carpenter's song "top of the world" at work all week, i just can't get it out of my head. Because it's such nice song and Karen had such a beautiful voice.:)

Like most other people here I like lots of different music and the great thing is the older you get the more choice there is. I'm from Ireland so here is a clip combining two of my favourite genres Irish Traditonal and Bluegrass, Ricky Skaggs and the Chieftans from the Grand Ole Oprey. You Tube is great for finding fantastic live performances.

"Wait a minute, baby... Stay with me a while..."
Fleetwood Mac's "Sara" ROCKS! Others that ROCK: (just a selection, I like a bit of everyting) Wagner's "Die Walküre" "O Fortuna" from Carl Orff's Carmina Burana The Beatles' "Something", "Girl", and a whole bunch of more songs... Amy Winehouse's "Rehab". Hilarious. Some of Coldplay... whenever I'm burned out. Toto's "Africa", "Hold the Line" Elvis. Nearly anything by the King. Now, in Spanish: Arena Hash; Pedro Suárez-Vértiz Miki Gonzales All of these are Peruvian. Now, more Spanish-speakers: Los Abuelos de la Nada's "Lunes por la madrugada", "Cosas mías", "Así es el calor" Celia Cruz El Gran Combo Tito Puente And I'm forgetting a looooot. |

Bruno Pelletier
Recently I've acquainted with the creativity of Bruno Pelletier. He is the great singer for me. Here are two his songs:

Well you may be right in saying that about Black Metal. Yet that "screaming" lies in its history. But i know what you mean - I not into the raw stuff myself. But there are a much outstanding bands which totally "are music". But i didnt wanted to start a discussion - just stated what type of music i like, not why. |
Here is one of my favorite tunes that brings tears to my eyes...sometimes I think I'm just "Too Sensitive"..but what can you do? :)

I've been listeing to the Sramli Kings and some of the songs are quite catchy. I also noticed the lead female singer really reminds me of our Danielle, what do you think guys?.:)

It really depends on my mood. I listen to everything from Classical and Opera to Gangster Rap and Hard Rock.

To honour St Patrick this is a clip of Sharon Shannon playing live in London two years ago. Sound isn't the best but it is good music.

Gloria
My favourite song of all time is Gloria by Laura Branigan. I recommend everyone go to ITunes now and get it. I mean its just a classic song.

I was a radio DJ for about 3 years and that put me in pop music hell. I have my misgivings about pop/rock music from the last 30 years.
I am also a semi-pro musician - playing out when I can. I sing mostly blues/soul/classic R&B in the way of Motown, Stax, Chess, Vee-Jay etc. Blues is my true bag as far as music. However, when I was younger, I listened to a lot of classic country and hard rock. It was all that was available to me on the radio or in the house. When I moved out to college, blues, jazz, and swing were introduced to me through nightlife. I had always sang in some format and eventually just made the transition into bands at that point in my life. Music has been a good companion when beautiful women have been in short supply. American blues music - folk blues or country blues as its called in some circles - is the basis for all other American music that's come after it, even country and rap to some degree. |
Always liked this song even from when i was a kid. Cat Stevens "Morning has broken".

I listen to different kind of music depending how I feel. Everything from metal to classical. Jazz, not so much.
Lately I've been listening to some classic rock. Jimi Hendrix - All Along The Watchtower and Deep Purple - Sometimes I Feel Like Screaming... Check those out if you haven't already. This song should be played when I enter the room :p Link modified by Moderator. Keep hidden links short so that they do not look like spam links. (W) |
