View Full Version : Some interesting patterns on posting

:confused:I've noticed that the MOST popular girls on FTV never end up with any postings here, or a thread, eg. Amelia, Denise, Claire, Stephanie etc...
But the least favorites seem to get a lot of posts. Too bad, because it would be nice to talk about the positives of a girl or a shoot for a change. The holly shoot was just fine, it didn't need to be hated on so bad because its a contributor shoot. Remember that 99% of all other sites are 'contributor shoot' based, and no where as comprehensive as the holly update was.
The reason why I didn't bother making a 2009 models listing & data on this board was that there isn't any good model discussion threads here to make it worthwhile.

You make a good point. I had never noticed that before. I also never really thought about the fact that I can start a thread.I should think that there are several other girls who could keep a conversation going for a while.
As for the Holly videos - I like them. I do tend to keep the volume turned down pretty low but they are definitely high on my list.

Hi Rob!
I hope my postings don't count into your critisized behavior. I'm lagging behind the updates somewhat, so I don't see the videos in time to start a thread with good comments (and probably the cover page picture to visualize who I'm talking about.)
If I have anything negative on my mind, I rather sleep it over than post it immediately. The next day most of the time I either don't see it that negative anymore - or have forgotten about it. ;)
I'd love to see a list of models with your insight like you did for 2008. I just thought you were too busy to set up such a list again. Now I see you thinking "Why should I bother when all I get is just bad comments?" and you're right.
I think the negative comments are the drawback of your success. We're so used to your very high standards that the people see every little flaw.
You're absolutely right, we should see and comment all the good things in the shoots, not clamor over seen or imagined imperfections.
I'll try to close my viewing gap and post more positive comments in the future.

Interesting comments Rob and I see your point, but to be fair, I'd imagine that those of us who regularly post here represent a very small percentage of FTV members. That said, I was surprised that Victoria, in my eyes one for the best models you've featured in a long time, didn't get more attention on the forum although the few comments about her that were posted were all positive. As for Holly I thought she was cute in the preview, but after reading the posts about her I kind of lost interest in downloading her update.
I'm also apparently very out of step with some of my recent favorites. It seems that the majority of members prefer the super skinny, teeny types, such as Amelia, Denise and Ileana and I do not. While I find them cute to an certain extent, they don't really turn me on. That's alright, though, because variety is the spice of life and I'm willing to give anyone a chance.

I think people are more likely to talk about things they don't like than what they do like. I mean, what are you going to say? You really liked their *fill in body part here* or how they did *X*? I don't know how other people feel, but if I think a girl is attractive I just feel uncomfortable saying things like that about her. If she's not, then its open season.
As far as the contributor shoots are concerned, they do fill a necessary role in that Rob can't do everything and a certain level of content is required. However, the subtext of the critisism that these guys get is just how good Rob's work is, so that is a compliment to Rob. If these guys read the boards, then they should take it as advice on what they need to improve.
As far as how popular a girl is, you can't really tell until you do the poll. If you go by those who post, or send PMs, you get a distorted view since those are a subset of folks with strong feelings one way or another. Take Stephanie for example, clearly she must have got a lot of positive PMs based on her star rating and posts on the board were very positive, but she didnt do well on the poll at all. The poll will be lurker heavy (folk who don't post) and clearly their tastes lay elsewhere. Please don't take this as a slam on Steph, she is pretty close to my personal idea of the ideal woman, I'm just using her as an example.
On the other hand there have been girls who rated highly both on the star rating and on the polls who I have thought were pretty ordinary or just plain hated. Usually for those I won't say anything but obviously they have something that a lot of people seem to like.
I think what would help a lot in terms of getting posts rolling would be to open a thread for every girl when their update get's posted.

Funny, because I thought there were positive postings. The talk about Alanna, Victoria, Taylor, Denise, etc., I felt were positive. Maybe I have not been on this forum long enough to know how past talks have gone, but I never noticed anything negative about the threads in this forum this year.
While I haven't loved every girl I have seen on here this year, or at least since I have been a member, I have found many to be wonderful and well worth the pay for this site.

I guess for some people it's easier to criticize than say something positive. I find most of the girls off-the-charts gorgeous, and the shoots as far as content, settings and variety great. If there is something you don't like, DON'T DOWNLOAD IT. Why rain on somebody else's parade by getting all pissy about a certain aspect of a certain shoot? The quality and beauty of the girls, and the respect and dignity with which they are treated is a quantum leap above what you will find anywhere else. I think a thread on all girls would be a good idea, and if you feel you really must say something negative, just lay down until the feeling goes away.

I like Denise. Very much :) And I wanted to create a new thread here to discuss her.. but dunno why I changed my mind. I lkie her smile and every photo with her is great. There is not bad photos of her cause she ishe films well. She is so funny. I liked waterhose video where she squirted on camera, acrobatic video and the pool party.
Lets discuss her :)
