To one and all, I want to wish you all the very best, now and every day. To those who celebrate Christmas, Merry Christmas tomorrow and Thursday. To those who celebrate Chanukah, I wish you well this second day of the Festival of Lights. To those who celebrate Eid al-Adha, I apologize for my belated best wishes to you. And to those who mark the Winter Solstice, again I'm a day late. All I can say is be happy, enjoy your lives, your families and, in the words of Bill S. Preston, Esq. and Ted Theodore Logan, "be excellent to each other." To me every day is a day of thanksgiving, a Christmas, a festival of lights and a day of sacrifice for others. Today is the day after the shortest day of the year. After yesterday, while the temperature drops more and more and life hunkers down to wait out those long, cold nights, I know that each day I see will ultimately lead to re-emerging life with the spring thaw, that the cherry trees will blossom and that next August, when the temperature is in the 100s again all I'll want (fickle me) is for winter to come again! Anyway, my sincerest and best wishes to each and every one of you, your families and your friends. Shalom, Salaam, Pax--Peace to you all (and give your kids, lovers, parents and siblings a big hug).
I hope its okay, but here are two links to stories I heard earlier today that got me choked up (and then some).
