I just found out from my landlord that, due to his pending divorce, I must move out within the next 30 days. I have been living in this apartment since Oct 2004 and I have made a real home for myself. Now, with all that has happened to me since moving in, I have to find a new place to live. I may have to give up my kitten (he will have a good home where I can visit him). I hope to find an apartment that will let me keep my kitten. He is fully de-clawed and he behaves well.

and did your landlord wish you a happy new year and then say, by the way I want you out in 30 days, what a grate start to 2011, I feel for you, what a shitty start to a new year, I hopoe you find something soon.

I'm really sorry that you have to move, WhyYou. That is definitely not a good start of the new year.
I really hope you find a home where you can keep Mortimer. I'd hate to see you two get separated.

I found a house for rent that's about 11 blocks east and 2 blocks south. The rent is about the same as I have been paying here. The landlord is a really nice, easygoing, older man. The previous tenant lived in that house for 10 years. It's a small place, just right for me and my cat (YES! I can keep Morty!). I have already paid the first month's rent plus the deposit.

Tomorrow (Tuesday) is my actual moving day. I will be disconnecting my computer tonight. I have not been able to contact my cable provider (both internet and phone) because I did not know the exact date I would be moving until this past weekend. I thought I could call them today but I did not realize that today is a national holiday. So the cable company is closed and will not open until tomorrow morning. It is possible that it might take a week before I can get back online (pisses the sh*t out of me). This may screw up the current college class that I am attending.
CRAP!
When I do get back online I will post here as soon as possible.

Had problems today getting my cable connection working. Turns out that the modem wasn't refreshing the IP address. The tech had to come back and get it to work right.

I pulled out all the insides of cotton and replaced it with rolled up toilet paper.:o

Although I don't have a junk room here, the heating is better, there is a large walk-in closet, and there are hookups for a washer and dryer. I do have to take care of the yard but I will most likely hire a high school student to do that when the grass is growing. I will be able to park in my backyard as soon as the landlord fixes the fence gate. I have already bought a small couch and ottoman for the living room. I plan to get a stereo (CD & Radio) and a washer/dryer set.
Glad to hear your settling in ok WhyYou, i have a junk space!, namely under the stairs lol. No matter where you go, you always have stuff you'd problably never use but don't want to throw away.:D

Mart: That's really funny! I won't have everything sorted for at least 6 months! Right now I am very snowed in. I need to wait until we have warmer weather for the snow to melt. Then I need to go buy some furniture, like shelves, so I have places to put the things that are now in boxes. I also need to buy a stereo (AM/FM/CD) for my bedroom (right now I have my secondary TV hooked to my video equipment, so I have something to listen to).
One good thing is that my couch and ottoman were finally delivered. Once I get an entertainment center for my TV and video equipment plus the bookcases (shelves) and then rearrange everything, I will have a decent living room.
So your saying, your not quite there yet WhyYou.:D
I'll ask again in about 6 months lol, last time i had to moved was about 12 years ago, guess i'm out of touch with the traumas of moving.
